All about the styled shoots
One thing I wished to have learned earlier in this photography adventure is the importance of styled shoots. What are styled shoots? Well these are shoots that we as photographers have 100% control of. I.E. models, style, location, and scenarios. By far styled shoots are the most fun especially when working/being creative with other fellow photogs.
So why are these styled shoots so important you may ask? One of the most important things about them is your branding. Being able to shoot your own style and expand your creativeness is what these shoots are all about. I, for example am a HUGE fan of the boho style. Everything from this style speaks to me. I love the outfits, the romance, and the over all vibe. This is a style that I want to brand as part of my photography & a reason for you beautiful humans to want me as your go-to photographer. Another amazing thing about styled shoots is that we use these to build up our portfolios. As someone who is trying to shoot more weddings doing these styled shoots allows me to show you these beautiful wedding photos I captured . And potentially be your next wedding photographer (wink wink)
With styled shoots we are able to make a scenario, for example a wedding. This "wedding" would include everything that we would have LOVED to have at our own weddings lol. Because I mean who wouldn't want to redo their wedding décor/style after seeing all these amazing weddings pics on IG & Pinterest? We as photographers would get to choose the models that best fit our style i.e. long hair, short hair, blondes, brunettes, tall, short, thin or curvy. The outfits also are chosen by us. Some photographers may ask you to purchase the outfits and in return you get access to the images that would be taken that day. But that's more for lifestyle style shoots not weddings (wedding dresses are EXPENSIVE for this purpose lol).
Now lets talk all about the wedding details for this shoot. Many photographers work side by side with vendors whom would like to have their work be known. Some vendors include: florist, bakers, decorators, MUAs, and hair dressers; as well as vendors whom are trying to advertise their wedding venues. As you can see it definitely takes a village of creators. When working side by side one must be respectful and of course capture their beautiful work.

This styled shoot was hosted by our amazing hosts: KcMaye Photography & One Three Events. This shoot took place at the MOST beautiful location : Historic Seven Sycamores in Ivanhoe, Ca. Guys this location is beyond gorgeous!!!!! You must visit if you have upcoming nuptials. I got to meet amazing photographers from around the valley & shoot side by side with them. It is a bit intimidating at first but you learn so much from everyone. We had the opportunity to shoot 3 amazing couples whom I may add are naturals in front of the camera. It was like a styled shoot dream come true. We had 3 different styles: Adventure Couple, Sunset Wedding couple, and Bridal Couple. And boy were they all amazing.
